Home Sick...

Josh has been home sick with me for two days now and I just got the call from Patrick that his swab was positive for H1N1, despite getting shots for both types. As I went into the bathroom this morning to get ready to run out for Tamiflu for Gracie, this is what I found on our toilet...

Note the pushpin into toilet seat cover and the picture and spelling...:):)

Thanks, Josh, for putting such a silly spin on an otherwise mundane situation and for managing to make me chuckle despite our crappy news....Does anyone have a plunger?......LOL

Halloween!

here are a few pics from our night-we had so much fun, it was scary....;) we were having some friends and family over to join us for trick-or-treating, so i thought we'd turn it into a party...

here is our "hummus graveyard"...

and our eyeball donut holes...

and the watermelon brain-thanks miss d-that must have taken FOREVER to do!

here are some of the kids enjoying the eyeballs and brains...mmmm

and here's ironman posing in his costume...wish i had my mom's talent for sewing. best i could do was sew a light into the chest of ben's costume (his idea). i realized after 2 days worth of festivities, that he didn't have the light on in any of the pictures, not for the parade, not for trick-or-treating...when i asked him why, he told me he was afraid it would burn a hole in his costume...that's my "safety sam"...;)

and there's indy, trying to replicate the pose exactly like it was on a movie poster-i won't be missing that whip when it gets put away....none too soon...

and here's my baby flower...she was really clingy for most of the night-not feeling well, and wondering, i'm sure, what on EARTH was going on...but what a pretty flower she made.

here's the gang, all ready to go...

and the kids' pumpkins...(i should give credit to Family F*n magazine for the food and pumpkins-they have the BEST ideas!)

and finally, checking out all of their loot...funny how excited they are about their candy that night, then they don't seem to care much after that...meanwhile it calls my name from the dining room table every afternoon around 3 ish...hope they won't miss all of those reese's...;)

and although not pictured here, pop-pop and oma volunteered to come and "work the door". due to our relatively remote location we never get a ton of kids, but it was so fun to have you join the party! aunt nise, uncle todd and mark, too!
thanks so much everyone, for all you brought and for helping to make it such a fun night!
